Flu subsiding, but shots still encouraged

Posted By on Mon, Dec 7, 2009 at 3:55 PM

As national news reports indicate the H1N1 pandemic is decreasing and won't rate among the worst in history, the El Paso County Department of Health and Environment still is urging residents to get the H1N1 vaccination. Past limitations have been broadened, and the department now says anyone 6 months and older should have the vaccination.

The latest local release adds the following statement: Previous information from the Health Department, and current information from the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment, Centers for Disease Control and other sources may not reflect this local change.

For more information, go to http://www.elpasocountyhealth.org/pages/Swine_flu.aspx. Another option is calling a hotline, available in English and Spanish, at 877/462-2911.
