The “Christmas Miracle for Megan” benefit was put together by “Magic” 98.9 KKMG-FM after the station received a letter from the local Children’s Hospital for Cancer and Blood Disorders about Megan’s need for a bone marrow transplant.
According to a press release from the station’s assistant program director and on-air personality Romi Milner:
The doctors have found a donor and the surgery is scheduled for January of 2010, but the insurance has capped at a very small percentage of what the transplant will cost making it extremely hard on the family to take care of the rest.
Castro, who parts from the usual American Idol stereotype with his dreadlocked appearance and a musical style that has much more in common with Jack Johnson than Whitney Houston, will be performing at Mr. Biggs (5825 Mark Dabling Blvd.) at 7 (doors open at 6) for just $5, all of which goes to Megan.
You can pick up advance tickets online or by dropping by the Magic FM studios (6805 Corporate Drive, #130, cash only, please) before 5 p.m. Call 955-7220 for more info.
