Rare find at the Humane Society

It's not every day you come across the shockingly vibrant eclectus parrot. Especially one at the Humane Society. According to his bio, "Bernie" was found abandoned in a hotel room but seems quite friendly and tame.

Bernie's up for adoption, and at $500, he's a good deal for any parrot (an eclectus can run between $800-$1,800, without a cage). Sweet as they can be, parrots are a huge responsibility. As someone who grew up with a cockatoo, my patience has been tested a hundred times over but the rewards are well worth it.

But even if a parrot's not your thing, don't forget all the animals at the Humane Society waiting for good homes.
