Entertainment Far gone but not forgotten

Because this blog wasn’t yet born when John Hughes died last August, there was really no way to share with you Courtney Love’s moving tribute to the filmmaker who taught a generation how to preen and pout. And, really, who else is better at preening, pouting and, of course, warbling off key than the once-and-future Hole frontwidow? Here, Love works her magic on “Don’t You Forget About Me,” the Simple Minds hit featured in Hughes' iconic coming-of-age film, The Breakfast Club. Sad for the filmmaker that he wasn’t around to hear this, but sadder still for Simple Minds' Jim Kerr, who is. Best viewer comment: “This is amazing!!!! She's so free!”
