NorthCom heading for Haiti

Northern Command, based at Peterson Air Force Base, is supporting Southern Command’s response to the earthquake in Haiti by providing a team of 20 personnel to coordinate the Pentagon's resonse. They will help deploy the Coast Guard and Air Force Reserve unit from the 302nd Airlift Wing, also based at Peterson, assessment and coordination.

Two bases have been designated for FEMA support to forward distribution of supplies and equipment to Haiti. They are Homestead Air Force Base, Miami, Fla., and Naval Air Station, Jacksonville, Fla..
