Posted By on Mon, Jan 18, 2010 at 4:22 PM

El Paso County Commissioner Wayne Williams officially announced his candidacy today at the Valley Hi Golf Course clubhouse. Showing up in support of him were U.S. Rep. Doug Lamborn, Attorney General John Suthers and state Rep. Amy Stephens, according to his campaign Web site, which is here.

Williams is vying for the Republican nomination against County Treasurer Sandra Damron. Both are barred from additional terms by term limits.

The winner will face public trustee Tom Mowle, a Democrat.
