Local News Foreclosures lowest in a year

Fewer people faced losing their homes last month than in any month since January 2009, Public Trustee Tom Mowle reports today.
Last month, there were 365 foreclosures started in El Paso County compared to 356 in January 2008. January is historically a low month for foreclosure filings.
Mowle also notes other data suggest that lenders have been less successful this year working with borrowers to avoid going to auction without paying the full default.
