Pitch a tent their way

Posted By on Thu, Feb 4, 2010 at 8:57 AM

At least 30 tents were donated in the first day of a Haiti relief effort sponsored by the Colorado Springs Fire Department and American Medical Response.

Now, Big 5 Sporting Goods and the Pueblo Fire Department are jumping on board. Big 5 is offering a discount on tents in addition to the sale price and it will hold tents for pickup by tent-drive organizers.

New or gently used four-person or larger tents and also large tarps can be dropped today (Thursday), Friday or Monday at:

AMR, 2370 N. Powers Blvd., Colorado Springs.
AMR, 922 S. Santa Fe Ave., Pueblo.
Any Springs or Pueblo fire station.

The tents are headed to Caring House Project, an organization in Haiti that builds self-sustaining villages.
