Redstone revocation revisited

Coming on the heels of Wednesday's post about the 30-day revocation of The Redstone Room's liquor license is a news release update from RR chef Andi Devlin.

First the offical word on the bad news:

Redstone Pizza has had their liquor license suspended for 30 days by the Colorado Springs Liquor Board for failing to file a Modification of Premises permit with the city.

So a bummer, to be sure. Redstone has some mean beer specials on very drinkable (read: craft) beverages, not to mention a decent pizza and calzone selection. But don't just take my word for it, says the release ...

Zane, a mechanic from the nearby Springs Auto Clinic, has a favorite — the aptly named Capo de Tutti Capo Calzone.

"It’s huge," says Zane, "but I usually finish the whole thing."

An inspiration to us all — ladies and gentleman: Zane.

Anyway, Devlin goes on to say that he has suspended his salary, and will offer trays of lasagna, chicken Parmesan and chicken alfredo (among others) to help offset lost revenue.

"Also — until we get the license back — pizza by the slice will be a dollar for any pizza, anytime. And since we can’t serve liquor, I’m keeping the kitchen, dining room and delivery open until 3 a.m. every day. We’ll do everything we can to keep it going."

Looks like we'll finally get an answer to that ancient nagging question: do I drink beer because I eat pizza, or do I eat pizza because I drink beer? Either way, at Redstone, it won't be both.
