Subs chosen for Memorial Health panel

Posted by on Mon, Feb 22, 2010 at 5:22 PM

Two people who resigned from the city's Memorial Hospital System citizens commission will be replaced tomorrow.

The Colorado Springs City Council is set to appoint freelance writer and technical editor Peggy James and Independent vice president of development Jay Patel to the panel, which will study Memorial's governance and whether the city should retain full ownership of the operation.

In recent weeks, mayoral candidate and real estate broker Tim Leigh and Peak Vista Community Health Centers CEO BJ Scott resigned, citing conflicts of interest. Leigh's wife works part-time as a nurse at Memorial, and Scott's agency does business with Memorial.
