Update: I just spoke with Chris Wright, who says he's narrowed the location down to Monument. He's also backing the opening date up until sometime in spring, 2011, though he says it's possible he might make a late 2010 opening.

In addition to Woodland Park's Bierwerks and Interquest Parkway's Colorado Mountain Brewery, make way for another new brewery in 2010: Pikes Peak Brewing Company plans to be open sometime this fall in the Tri-Lakes area.
The venture, yet to pin down a location, is the vision of co-owners Chris Wright and Dan York, a 38-year-old IT guy and 49-year-old corporate pilot respectively. Wright is also the guy behind The Beer Journal. York, before moving on to pursue his dream of flying, was one of the founders of a California-based juice bar concept called Juice it Up.
Wright says the brewery will launch with two flagship beers — an oatmeal stout and a golden Belgian — to be followed mostly likely by a wheat and a copper/amber ale. Also expect at least two seasonal small-batch ales on tap at all times (which won't be bottled), "definitely an IPA."
"One thing we're trying to create here," says Wright, "is to go back to the roots of a more English-style neighborhood pub, where community comes together." Those community members not of age will be able to enjoy house-made root beer and a small tasting room menu of soups and sandwiches.
