If there's any kind of unofficial competition to determine the most right-wing-friendly bookstore in Colorado Springs, Borders out north at Chapel Hills definitely has to be declared the winner now.
The "honor" will be cemented Sunday, as Karl Rove, longtime guru to former President George W. Bush, will appear at Borders, 1710 Briargate Blvd. #209, to sign copies of his book, Courage and Consequence, a first-person account of his career in Republican politics from Texas to the White House. The signing is scheduled to start at 1 p.m.
Already, that Borders store had the distinction of hosting Sarah Palin last December on her national tour to sign her book, Going Rogue. But the Barnes and Noble store adjacent to the Citadel Mall had staked its claim to the right-wing audience last August with nationally known columnist/blogger Michelle Malkin, also a Colorado Springs resident, signing her latest book.
But Malkin can't compare to Palin and Rove. So who's next, Borders? Glenn Beck? Rush Limbaugh?
