From the listings desk: The next poet to lead the Pikes Peak Poet Laureate Project will be announced in a press conference at 10 a.m. tomorrow at the Penrose Library (20 N. Cascade Ave.).

The PPPLP promotes local poetry and connects poets of all ages in the community. Each laureate serves a two-year term and must develop a long-term project as well as coordinate readings, slams and workshops.

Aaron Anstett, the first regional poet laureate, launched the "Poetry While You Wait" initiative, a series of poetry booklets by local writers which was distributed to waiting rooms throughout the community.

An inaugural reception for the new laureate will take place at 4:30 p.m. Saturday, April 24, also at the Penrose Library.
