Imagine this scenario: You're apparently in such a rush to shoplift that you decide to drive your pickup truck while under the influence of prescription morphine and barbiturates, and without your required eyeglasses.
After stealing from the local grocery store, you ram into someone else's car in the parking lot. Oops! Oh well. You just drive off.
Then, on the way back home, you fail to yield in traffic, and kill two young bicyclists.
This actually happened.
Back in 2009, 64-year-old Barbara Thomas — who, by the way, was no stranger to law enforcement — was sentenced to just three years for killing 28-year-old Jayson Kilroy and 30-year-old Edgar "E.J." Juarez.
Think about how hard that was to swallow for the people who loved E.J. and Jayson. (I'm familiar with how hard this was, because E.J. and Jayson were friends of friends and both once worked with my husband.)
But wait! It gets worse!
On May 1, the Colorado Parole Board will consider releasing Thomas, who has only served 13 months of her sentence.
Friends of E.J. and Jayson are asking anyone with a sense of outrage to contact Tim Hand, head of the Parole Board, and urge him to make sure Thomas serves all three years.
Here's his contact information:
Tim Hand, Deputy Director, Regional Operations
Denver, CO 80203
Here's a memorial video friends made for E.J. and Jayson:

Let me begin, Mr. Miller, by clearing the air. I am not a liberal. Lawyers…
Here's the problem with the liberal ideology...and this is why Donald Trump won the election…
