Turns out not all Queens of the Stone Age members limit themselves to supergroup side-projects like Dead Weather and Them Crooked Vultures. Bassist Michael Shuman is, in fact, touring with a couple guys we never heard of, in a band called Mini Mansions. And Damian Burford has just booked them to play the Triple Nickel on June 3.

While his bandmates' side projects compete to see who can sound more like Led Zeppelin, Shuman’s band lists heavily toward mid-period Beatles, in an Eels/Fountains of Wayne kinda way.

And based on their MySpace page songs, they do it really, really well. Score another one for the Springs!

Here's a video of Mini Mansions playing for a beer-can-throwing Them Crooked Vultures crowd at the House of Blues in Boston.
