Art on the Streets preview

Posted By on Fri, Jun 4, 2010 at 8:06 AM

Here's a first look at the upcoming batch of outdoor sculptures for this year's Art on the Streets. Don't mind the background on the images, as they have yet to be installed into their new locales.

This year's crop only brings eight works, far fewer than recent years, but there will still be prizes for best-in-show pieces. An awards ceremony and opening reception will be held June 18 (RSVP to 886-0088 by the 11th). This year's juror, Jan Schall, Ph.D., curator of modern and contemporary art at the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art in Kansas City, will also talk on June 17 about one of the 20th century's finest sculptors in a lecture titled "Henry Moore: From Perry Green to Kansas City."
