With the possible exception of that cover quote, the story inside is pretty standard-issue celebrity profile, with a writer following the pop star around for a couple days and describing it in diary-style installments. Example:
FRIDAY, APRIL 30, 12:53 P.M.
Atlantic City, NJ
"Look at those seagulls with their fat little bellies!"
The next morning, Williams is strolling along the Atlantic City boardwalk, munching on a $3 corn dog. She's got a hint of twang and a pretty, crooked smile that reveals the gap in her front teeth. (One of her nicknames is SpongeBob.)
Yeah, that kind of thing. We also learn that "life on the road with Paramore is pretty PG," that the band likes chocolate milk, and that "Hayley Williams doesn't do drama."
The irony part, as Paramore and celebrity gossip fans have already realized, is that a month after the interview took place, but apparently too late for Spin to shout "stop the presses," a topless photo of Williams was posted via her Twitter site. (Sorry, you'll have to go find it yourself.)
Williams blamed a hacker and quickly deleted the picture, while her management set about the BP-like task of stemming a tide of internet repostings with cease-and-desist emails.
None of which has exactly hurt the singer's career, given that Katy Perry and Usher are the only artists keeping "Airplanes" (Williams collaboration with B.o.B) away from the #1 slot on this week's Billboard chart.
And no, the video isn't embeddable, so you'll have to try to find that yourself as well.
Or you could just click on this clip of Williams taking a vocal lesson. (PS, you might want to turn down the volume on your computer before watching.)
