Petition set for recall of three D2 board members

The El Paso County Election Department confirmed that it has approved petitions for the recall of Harrison School Board President Deborah Hendrix, Treasurer Linda Pugh and member Richard Price.
The petitions were effective June 16.
Petitioners have until August 14 to collect 6,956 signatures for each of the board members whose recall is sought. If enough signatures are gathered and certified, a recall election could be held concurrent with the November election, or at another date set by the Harrison Board of Education.
The recall is being sought by angry community members who say recent sweeping changes in Harrison are not in the best interest of children, and that the board has been financially irresponsible.
