It's time again for the "Guns and Hoses Flag Football Game."
(Yes, we know what you're thinking, sickos, but that's not what it is AT ALL so get your mind out of the gutter.)
The annual competition between the city's cops and firefighters is great fun to watch and is truly a FAMILY event. The event is free and will feature prizes and a giant "Hamster Ball" race. (Don't go there, seriously.)
Here's all the info:
The Sixth Annual Guns and Hoses Flag Football Game between members of the Colorado Springs Police Department and the Colorado Springs Fire Department is scheduled for Saturday, July 10 at 11:00 AM. The game will be played at the Cheyenne Mountain High School Athletic Field located at 1200 Cresta Road. ALL of the proceeds from the game benefit the Southeastern Colorado affiliate of the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure. The participating members from the CSPD and the CSFD volunteer their time to play in the game.
Admission to the game is free, and the gates open at 10:00 AM. In addition to the game on the field, there will be prize giveaways throughout the event, and activities including giant “Hamster Ball” races.
Representatives from the Susan G. Komen Foundation will also be present at the game, and anyone in attendance can register for the Annual Susan G. Komen “Race for the Cure” scheduled for Sunday, September 12th in Garden of the Gods Park Additional information about the “Race for the Cure” can be found at http://www.komencs.org/.
