Not to smack you with another one of those "local girl makes good" warm-and-fuzzy stories, but a once-Springs-based woman — who I hear interned for the Indy a little before my time — has indeed made her mark in journalism. And it's actually more of a cold story; I'll explain.

The blog mainly features recipes for creative ice creams and sorbets, such as a ginger sake and strawberry goat cheese ice cream and coconut basil sorbet. There's also a feature where you can suggest a flavor: Current submissions include a Craisin white chocolate orange zest maple-candied walnut ice cream; beet ice cream; bacon ice cream (Josh & John's has you beat on that); and Thai chili lime cashew sorbet.
