MMJ patient rattles small town

Posted By on Mon, Aug 9, 2010 at 9:31 AM

Angela Macdonald runs The Reefer Report, a medical marijuana website. She's also a patient herself, as well as a resident of Haxtun, a small northeastern Colorado town where centers happen to be banned. As she recently told Westword, "It takes me two-and-a-half hours every time I need to go down [to Denver]. That's five hours a day to get access to my rights under Amendment 20."

So Macdonald decided to cover a building she owns on Haxtun's main strip — the old police station — with a mural, including marijuana symbols and quotes. Below is video of some local reactions; enjoy the minivan man (1:58), as well as the angrily gesturing neighbor (3:23).
