• As promised in last week's review, Amuzé at the FAC is now open for dinner, starting tonight. Regular café hours will be 11 am. to 2 p.m. for lunch, with dinner service beginning at 5, Tuesdays through Saturdays.
Service will also now be available in the Deco Lounge from 4 to 10 p.m., Tuesdays through Saturdays. And look for a lunch buffet from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Sundays. Chef Bill Sherman is also launching wine tasting dinners as of Aug. 26.
• If you're craving a food festival, the Taste of Douglas County will be held from 5 to 8 p.m., Aug. 19, at the Douglas County Events Center. Tickets are $20 at the door, $10 in advance, and a few Colorado Springs businesses (though technically El Paso County based) will be participating, including the Craftwood Inn and Patsy's Candies.
