Does the name James Mullen ring a bell? How about Kip Peterson?
Who'd have thought that the former Springs city manager (Mullen) and ex-manager of the Cherokee Metropolitan District (Peterson) would end up contending for the same job — manager of the Pueblo West Metropolitan District? Peterson is still consulting at the Cherokee district for now. Mullen was the Springs city manager during the late 1990s, moved to Nevada and then back again.

The Pueblo Chieftain reports that both, along with two others, are in the running for the job vacated by the March 2009 firing of the previous manager.
