A threat to one's survival has a way of focusing the mind, and e-mails from the Colorado Springs Medical Cannabis Council show it's more than focused on the county's November ballot question to possibly ban MMJ centers in unincorporated territory.
"It is imperative that we defeat this ballot initiative in November, or the city centers will be battling it in April. It's really that simple," writes Council president Tanya Garduno. "Beating this ballot is vital to the survival of safe patient access in Colorado Springs, and to so many of you, your survival inside Colorado Springs."
Garduno will reveal the Council's strategy for November, as well as provide details on the group's legal defense fund, and opportunities for volunteers to assist the cause, tonight at 7:30, at The Thirsty Parrot.
"We will need heavy donations to the campaign fund, as well as an army of volunteers to get our message out to the masses," she writes. "We have reserved this larger venue so we can get as many people as possible out to learn about how to be involved."
