Funny: McDonald's and morgue both start with the letter "M." Hmmmm....

That's about as scientific as the final assertion in this soon-to-be controversial ad is when it asks viewers to "make it vegetarian" to fight high cholesterol, high blood pressure and heart attacks.

I'm all for taking on fast food on the whole — not just the house of Ronald — as being unhealthy and indeed an easy avenue for the aforementioned health ills. But I also don't believe the vegetarian diet is the perfect model of health. (Disclaimer: I was a vegan for 2 1/2 years and a vegetarian for around two years.)

For a better perspective on cholesterol and fats, and how eating small quantities of high-quality meats (such as grass-fed beef or buffalo) in the absence of sugar and carbohydrates is actually good for you, check out this website and book. (Yes, I'm talking about what's commonly called the Paleo Diet.)

As for this provocative bit of advertising, I'm with the author of this post when he wonders whether McDonald's will file a lawsuit or whether this stands as parody.

Either way, watching the golden arches arc over a cadaver's feet is pretty priceless.
