Tonight, from 7 to 8 o'clock at the All Souls Unitarian Universalist Church at 730 N. Tejon St., there will be a candlelight vigil in memory of those LGBT youth who have taken their own lives.
From the press release:
At 6:30 p.m. in the church there will be a showing the film “You Are Not Alone” — a project of the Suicide Prevention Partnership in collaboration with youth from the LGBTIQ community and Inside/Out Youth Services. Vigil immediately following.
We invite you to be 1 Ally for 1 Safer School during October 18 — 22, National Ally Week. Call or email your local school superintendent and tell them:1) You support student-led Gay Straight Alliances because they help fight prejudice and anti-LGBT violence; 2) You support anti-bullying policies that name characteristics most often targeted by bullies (including sexual orientation, gender identity, race, religion) because they create safer schools.
