The time to decide the county's Question 1A is drawing ever closer, and those who oppose the ban of medical marijuana centers in unincorporated parts of the county are seeking to educate anyone who's interested on a ban's possible effects.

If you can get out of work for it, Citizens for Safer Communities is holding a public forum at noon on Wednesday, Oct. 27, in the Carnegie Room at the Penrose Library.

A release from the campaign says, "If passed, this ban could put thousands of local people out of work, cause untold numbers of bankruptcies, harm the local economy, decrease government revenue, and deny access to essential treatment for thousands of local people suffering from disease and sickness."

The forum will feature Steve Hammers from Hammers Construction, as well as Lono Ho'ala, owner of Eagle's Nest Wellness Center in Cascade.
