8:25 p.m.: Pam reports that Merritt just amended his estimate. Could be another 30 minutes before hearing anything.

The Indy's Pam Zubeck, who's at Copperhead Road with the local Republican leadership, just called in to pass along some info she picked up in a conversation with Andy Merritt, the Republican Party's county chairman. Apparently, the state voter database at the Secretary of State's Office crashed around 7 p.m. Across the state, poll workers have had to scramble to get the last voters set up.
Merritt has since taken the stage over there to tell people that he expects county results to be released in the next 15 to 20 minutes. If we hear anything else, we'll let you know. Bottom line, though: It might be a late night for political types all over the state.
