Vinyl fetish

If you're a hardcore vinyl collector and feel like going to Denver this weekend — a combination which most likely rules out 99 percent of our readers — head up to the Red Lion Hotel from 10 to 4 Sunday for the Denver Record Collectors Fall Expo.

Those of us who don't own functioning turntables can still dig through crates of LPs, CDs, 45s and DVDs, or peruse posters and other memorabilia. (Holidays are coming, after all.)

With 40-plus dealers in attendance, the offerings should also be musically diverse. As the expo website notes:

The Denver Record Collector's Expo is not just for the Beatles/Elvis/Buddy Holly crowd. It's also a great place to search out that hard to find The Strokes single, or that ultra-limited edition Paul Oakenfold twelve-inch. We've got it all down at the Expo: Rock, Jazz, Blues, Rockabilly, Soul, Punk, Country, Metal, Easy Listening .... if you can't find something you like, you don't like music!

OK, that hurt my feelings. Anyway, the Red Lion is located at 3200 S. Parker Road in Aurora. $2 gets you in the door; hard to say what it'll cost to get you out.
