I interviewed Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center museum director Blake Milteer yesterday on the upcoming Allen True's West show. Here are some shots of the main gallery, mid-installation.

Milteer says the paintings, prints and mural studies were left in their shipping crates for a few days to allow the works to adjust to the local humidity (or lack thereof). This is a common practice with traveling exhibits.

Surprisingly, the FAC has no work from True in its permanent collection. “One day we’ll rectify that,” says Milteer.

Allen True's West opens Thursday, Nov. 11, with a reception from 5 to 7 p.m. Read a full preview of this show in next week's Indy.
