Dan Maes paid family one-third of campaign contributions

Posted By on Wed, Dec 8, 2010 at 2:29 PM

If Dan Maes didn't appear to be the brightest candidate in November's gubernatorial race, maybe we weren't looking hard enough.

After all, unlike his opponents — who apparently thought running a political campaign was about winning elected office — Maes clearly realized that running a political campaign was a great way to pay your broke-ass self over $90,000. He even got to throw in a few extras for the wife and kiddies.

All told, the Maes family paid itself one-third of the candidates' campaign contributions.

Anyways, for further details of how Maes got rich off campaign contributions (AND SO CAN YOU ... if you get the attention of a fringe political group, and a major political party falls into scandal right before the a primary ...) visit the Denver Post.

Dan Maes: Sure anyone can fail in politics, but it takes a special person to take advantage of his earnest supporters.
