Knitting with friends, and a buzz!

Posted By on Thu, Dec 16, 2010 at 7:33 AM

I suppose this isn't the type of event I am best known for covering, but my dear friend Karen Lakes has invited me to join her at a newly formed weekly social event that was just too clever and fun for me not tell everyone!

Blipping my “ironic hipster credibility scale” somewhere between a neo-feminist spoken word open mic night, and the centuries-old suffragette stitch 'n bitch, Open Knit Thursdays from 7 to 9 p.m. at Wooglin's Deli (823 N. Tejon St.), is a free knitting club (don't worry crotcheteers, you're welcome, too!) for all skill levels. Even more importantly, if you buy one glass of wine, you get one free! As Karen so perfectly sells it, its “knitting with a buzz!”
