Theater Cirque Du Soleil in the Springs — Part Three

Cirque Du Soleil will open Alegría next Wednesday at the World Arena.

Today's 17-minute, raw and informal audio segment is with Alegría artistic director Tim Smith. Smith comes from a rich Broadway background and explains his role in managing the artists as well as directing the production. Though the show is 16 years old and the overall framework is fixed, Smith says the acts within the show constantly change and that he and the crew "create them together daily." Here's more:

- These are the power track performers who were warming up as I spoke with Tim Smith. After their routine is done nightly, the stage closes again to hide the large, X-shaped trampoline structure.
