A mysterious box

Posted By on Fri, Jan 14, 2011 at 1:43 PM

I received a call from our receptionist this morning, letting me know I had a really big box up front.

She wasn't kidding.

Large AND gorgeous.

Quite possibly the most impressive press kit we've seen here at the Indy offices in a while (and the only one to come directly to me), this box was sent from Aspen's People's Press.

Inside was a lovely trio: George Stranahan and Nicole Beinstein Strait's art book (and 2010 Colorado Book Award winner) Phlogs: Journey to the Heart of the Human Predicament, a bottle of Stranahan's Colorado Whiskey and a box of notecards with images and stories from the book. I admit, my heart fluttered a bit.

I'm looking forward to doing as Strait suggests in her accompanying letter to me: "Please do taste them all while at ease in a cozy and familiar chair (ice helps, too)."

After I have, I'll report back.
