A few months ago, Liese Chavez, the Manitou Springs artist I've waxed about at length, began working in oil paints. For someone with a background in water-based acrylics, this can be quite an adjustment.
But the results have been successful. Chavez seems to be taking just fine to oil paint's sculpture-like qualities. (It dries slowly and you can control its viscosity.) These she sent yesterday:
