If you haven't seen the amazing technicolor water pipeline yet, and you're a member of the Housing and Building Association of Colorado Springs, here's your chance.
The HBA is inviting members to join business and community leaders on a one-day tour of the Southern Delivery System. The SDS pipeline will bring water from Pueblo Reservoir, eventually increasing the city's supply by a third.
Some construction is under way. The HBA says those on the tour will see pipeline alignment areas and learn more about "how this regional project will supply water for the SDS partner communities for decades to come."
The tour provides an up-close look at a critical system that is essential for future business retention and economic development, the HBA says on its website.
Tours will start at 8 a.m. and conclude about 3:30 p.m. Tour dates are Thursday, Feb. 3; Friday, Feb. 25, and Wednesday, March 9.
Participants will check in at the Conservation and Environmental Center, 2855 Mesa Road, Colorado Springs, at 8 a.m. Transportation for the tour will be by motor coach, and lunch will be provided.
Please RSVP for one of these dates by contacting Kathy Wood at Colorado Springs Utilities at 668-8083 or KWood@csu.org.
