A member of Memorial Health System's executive team has bailed for a job in Tulsa.
According to NewsOn6 in Tulsa, Jason Fahrlander, formerly chief operating officer at Memorial, takes over as CEO of Hillcrest Medical Center today.
According to the NewsOn6 item, Fahrlander also was senior vice president of Parkland Health & Hospital System in Dallas, Texas, as administrator at Presbyterian Healthcare Services in Albuquerque, N.M., and Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Mo.
Hillcrest is a 691-bed facility with several specialties, including a burn unit and a heart disease unit. It's a nonprofit entity, according to a website that rates hospitals.
Memorial spokeswoman Cari Davis says in an e-mail, "Jason Fahrlander was at Memorial for two years as the Chief Operating Officer. He had the opportunity to further his career by taking a CEO position in Tulsa, and just couldn't pass it up. We were sorry to see him leave but understand his choice given the fabulous professional opportunity."
