Skorman gets the donors, volunteers

Mayoral candidate Richard Skorman's campaign announced today that it raised $100,691.43 from 541 contributors in January. That brings Skorman's total fundraising through January 31 to $128,194.43 from 617 donors.

Only $10,000 of that came out of Skorman's own pocket.

The announcement means that Skorman has outperformed all of his peers on the fundraising trail — by a lot. Now, other mayoral campaigns (Bach, Bahr, Gilmore) have raised nearly as much or even more than Skorman, but the vast majority of their campaign funds have come out of their own bank accounts.

Skorman, a former City Councilman and Vice Mayor, also has 564 volunteers.

“I’m humbled by the outpouring of support we’ve received so far," Skorman stated in a press release. "January was an important fundraising month because it shows the breadth of support I have and it allows us to more effectively tell voters about my vision for Colorado Springs."
