MMJ news you can use:

• In the last month of 2010, Colorado Springs city government collected $61,032, its highest total since it began collecting medical marijuana-related sales tax revenue. The amount is a 137.25 percent increase over this time last year's total of $25,734. The previous high was the $56,992 the sales department took in in Sept. 2010.

Audrey Hatfield, the founder of Coloradans 4 Cannabis Patient Rights, says 16-year-old Bill Smith (a pseudonym) will be allowed to return back to Sierra High School, where he attends, after medicating. The school had previously stated the student must remain at home if using medical marijuana, reversing an even earlier position. See our story here.

• Co-sponsored by Rep. Cindy Acree (R-Arapahoe) and Sen. Scott Renfroe (R-Weld County), House Bill 1250 was introduced two days ago on Feb. 9 with the goal of overturning the approved licensing scheme for infused products manufacturers — essentially banning the production of edibles and the like.

"Patients depend on edible cannabis medicines as one of the most important ways to ingest and benefit from cannabis," says a news release from the Cannabis Therapy Institute. "The therapeutic value of consumed cannabis medicinals cannot be understated. This is another direct attack on patient rights."

The bill is currently before the House Judiciary Committee and a public hearing has been scheduled for March 1.

• Because why not, Groupon knock-off mmjDailyDeals.com has launched. As you might imagine, you sign up for a daily e-mail that contains discounted medical marijuana products. This morning's featured $12 worth of Dixie Elixirs for $6, but only if I bought them at Greenwerkz, a center with locations in Denver, Edgewater and Glenwood Springs.
