Colorado College
's improbable postseason hockey run continued Thursday night with an impressive 4-2 victory over Alaska Anchorage at the Western College Hockey Association's Final Five tournament in St. Paul, Minn.

The victory puts CC in the semifinals today against top-seeded North Dakota, the regular-season champion, with a 6 p.m. faceoff Mountain time. The game will be carried live on FOX Sports Rocky Mountain (channel 35 on local cable, or 702 in high-def).

FSRM also will televise the other semifinal, with the University of Denver facing upstart Bemidji State, starting at 1 p.m.

Winners advance to the championship game Saturday night, with the league's Broadmoor Trophy on the line. Ironically, Colorado College never has won the trophy that was donated by the local hotel/resort.

Most observers are saying that CC likely has earned a spot in the 16-team NCAA Tournament field, which will be announced Sunday. CC, with a 22-17-3 record, currently is 14th in the PairWise computer rankings that mirror the process used to determine the bracket.

Jayson Moy, senior writer for uscho.com and arguably the nation's most respected bracketologist, submitted this potential NCAA lineup after CC's game Thursday night:

East Regional (Bridgeport)

16 RIT vs. 1 Yale

9 Notre Dame vs. 6 Merrimack

West Regional (St. Louis)

13 Nebraska-Omaha vs. 4 Michigan

12 Western Michigan vs. 7 Denver

Midwest Regional (Green Bay)

15 Dartmouth vs. 2 North Dakota

10 Minnesota-Duluth vs. 5 Miami

Northeast Regional (Manchester)

14 Colorado College vs. 3 Boston College

11 New Hampshire vs. 8 Union

Air Force still could make the NCAA Tournament by winning the Atlantic Hockey Association tournament this weekend in Rochester, N.Y. Tonight the Falcons face Holy Cross in the semifinals, with a likely date against host Rochester Institute of Technology on Saturday to determine the AHA's national berth.
