Noting that the recently sworn in City Council was missing "two of our greatest supporters" — Tom Gallagher and Sean Paige — an e-mail from the Colorado Springs Medical Cannabis Council announced its latest gathering tonight at 6:30 at The Warehouse Restaurant & Gallery.
Mayoral candidate Richard Skorman will be speaking. Skorman has previously stated his support for MMJ, and plans to "answer more questions about his intent regarding medical cannabis in Colorado Springs."
"Remember that the City Clerk sets the fees for licensing and the City Clerk works for the mayor," writes CSMCC president Tanya Garduno. "It's very important that our next leader understand that this 'cash well' has been pumped dry and our industry cannot afford the proposed fees. Everyone who supports the industry should also attend as the more fees we have, the more likely it is that we will go out of business and they will lose that income as well.
"The next mayor needs to hear and see us in numbers."
