Saturday's concert featuring Grass It Up, Big Valley String Band, Juliet, and the Broken Spoke would be a worthy enough event on its own.
But add in the fact that it's a benefit for Lumin E. Windsong, the 6-week-old daughter of Grass It Up's fiddler Ben Lewis, and it might just turn out to be the feel-good show of the spring season.
Lumin was born with serious health problems, which have been steadily improving. Proceeds from the event will help to alleviate the economic hardships that invariably accompany extended hospitalization.
You can get more info on the show, as well as updates on Lumin and her family, here. Meanwhile, here's the basics for Saturday's event, followed by a sweet little video of Big Valley String Band playing Richard Thompson's "1952 Vincent Black Lightning."
