The 2012 election cycle is upon us.
Peak Dems, the El Paso County Democratic Party, is coming to a close on a month of fundraising. On July 15, it will be wrapping up its Donor Pledge Month, the goal of which was to add 100 new members. They haven't gotten there quite yet, says executive director Christy Le Lait in an email blast.
To create true and lasting change here in Colorado Springs and El Paso County we will need everyone's help! Peak Dems relies on your support to run our day-to-day operations and with 2012 speeding towards us we need to build our war chest - for caucuses, for the County Convention and for a kick-butt GOTV program. We do not receive funding from the State Party or the DNC and we stand on our own, fighting to be a voice for fairness and equality in one of the most conservative counties in our state.
The 2012 Presidential campaign is just one piece of the upcoming political excitement.
Here at the County level we will be focused on getting Pete Lee re-elected, putting a Democrat in House District 17, and defeating other Republicans. What we do matters here! Local and state candidates rely on us - all of us - to help get them elected.
If you'd like to support the Dems, you can donate here.
