Ximena Sarinana: Recent Black Sheep opener makes good

Fitz & the Tantrums may not have been the only rapidly rising stars who played the Black Sheep last month. Ximena Sarinana, the considerably more mellow Mexican singer-songwriter who opened for the Tantrums' June 4 show, has just been selected as VH1's "You Oughta Know" artist for the month of August.

Musicians who've been granted this distinction in the past, and gone on to prove the network right, include Adele, Mumford & Sons, Amy Winehouse, Grace Potter & The Nocturnals, the Civil Wars and, yes, Fitz & The Tantrums.

So to celebrate, here's a clip of the singer duetting with Jason Mraz. You can also read last month's Indy feature on Sarinana, as well as our Fitz & the Tantrums cover story, here.
