If you're not already planning to hit Marmalade at Smokebrush tonight for First Friday, here's another reason to stop by: this charming video of honeybees.
Made from some of the photos in Marmalade's contribution to the Cross Pollination program (more on that in a moment), these shots include close-ups of some backyard hives, including that of Indy staffer Matthew Schniper.
Tonight's activities begin with free yoga with Kat Tudor from 5 to 6, followed by a 6:30 film screening and then, from 7 to 9, an "interactive installation inspired by a hive of honeybees." Live music by Deuce will play throughout the night.
This is the first night of exhibits and events in Cross Pollination, a multidisciplinary, bee-themed series which runs through December. The docket includes some truly fascinating exhibits at GOCA 1420 and Colorado College's I.D.E.A. Space, as well a screening of the film Vanishing of the Bees, honey and mead tastings, panel discussions and a lot more. Visit crosspollinationcollab.com for a schedule, and look out for more Indy coverage in coming issues.
