Beware of book sellers to benefit hospital

Posted By on Thu, Aug 18, 2011 at 3:34 PM

Some nefarious character is apparently trying to use city-owned Memorial Health System for personal gain. Here's a warning from Memorial:

Memorial Health System has received at least two reports of someone who has gone door-to-door claiming to sell books to benefit Memorial Hospital for Children. This appears to be a scam. No such fund-raising campaign is underway by Memorial or its fund-raising foundation. The reports came from neighborhoods in northwest Colorado Springs.
Someone who believes he or she has been a victim of this scam should call the Colorado Springs Police Department at 444-7000.
