More bike fun this weekend: The U.S. Grand Prix of Sprinting

With all the blitz about the USA Pro Cycling Challenge and its accompanying events, you may not have heard about another very exciting cycling event happening in Colorado Springs this weekend: The U.S. Grand Prix of Sprinting.

The 7-Eleven Velodrome at Memorial Park will have the nation's top track bike sprinters battling it out through the weekend.

If you haven't watched track bike racing before, you're in for a treat. It's a fast-paced sport with plenty of aggression. Riders whip around the track, battling for position, and sometime even knocking each other over. Ouch!

Gates open on Saturday and Sunday at 6 p.m. Racing starts at 7 p.m. Kids 12 and under pay $5. Adults pay $10.
