We're still in the heart of harvest season, proven to me last night when I was able to incorporate carrots, beets, basil, tomatoes, chives, arugula, kale and honey from our garden into my dinner with friends.
This month should be a busy one with culinary events, including Local Food Week, Sept. 17 through 25.

• Motif will host a Fall Crescendo Wine Dinner at 6:30 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 14, with seats at $45 plus tax/tip.
