I'm not psychic.
So I have to rely on common sense and intuition to make this prediction: You probably have better things to do over the weekend than sit in a traffic jam. If I'm right, than you should really stay off Platte Avenue on Sunday.
Remember, you were warned.
Platte Ave. closed Sunday
A section of East Platte Avenue through central Colorado Springs (roughly between Union Blvd. on the east and Hancock Ave. on the west) will be closed Sunday (Sept. 18), from 7 a.m. to 12 a.m. midnight, as part of the construction of safety improvements in the area. Work crews will replace storm drains that cross Platte Ave.
Work had originally been scheduled for Saturday, but had been rescheduled to avoid conflicting with the activities associated with the planned Firefighters Memorial.
Detours will be in place and motorists should use alternate routes if possible.
Similar closures in this area will be repeated each of the following two Saturdays, including Sept. 24 and Oct. 1, 2011.
The project is scheduled to be completed by the end of November 2011. All scheduling is weather dependent. Motorists should pay attention to message boards in the area that will warn of traffic changes, and plan alternate routes accordingly.

Cities and counties shouldn't be taking on DEBT to build parks.
I am sad to observe that there doesn't seem to be a town or city…
