Due to overwhelming demand, Colorado Gives Day has been extended until noon tomorrow.
——- ORIGINAL POST, TUESDAY, 11 A.M. ——-
Today is Giving First's "Colorado Gives Day."
Here's how it works: You go to GivingFirst.org before midnight today, select a local nonprofit, log on and give. One hundred percent of donations go to your cause.
There's plenty of local organizations participating, including Citizens Link, the ACLU of Colorado, Colorado AIDS Project, and the Colorado Springs Philharmonic.
According to GivingFirst.org:
This opportunity to support and give back to Colorado nonprofits is made possible by Community First Foundation, a Denver-based community foundation whose mission is “to improve quality of life by increasing community generosity and involvement.” GivingFirst.org is a program of our Nonprofit Preservation Initiative, which was launched in 2004 to preserve the future of Colorado nonprofits.
Remember, you can also give locally through the Independent's Give! campaign.
